What is Tarot?
And who is Teta Yaga?
Tarot is a set of 78 cards that depict different scenarios, feelings, thoughts, and symbols from the universal human experience. The tarot works by presenting a selection of these archetypal ideas when a reading is done, and the reader and client both can use their intuition and life experiences to create a meaningful message. This information may be something they have not originally considered, or a whole new perspective on the subject.

As a tarot reader I strive to first get to the heart of a client’s question. Then, when I draw the cards and lay them out in a custom spread, I look at the symbols and scenarios represented on the cards to start to develop a message for the client. I truly want to help people get the most out of their life, and feel that tarot is an excellent tool to achieve that end.

And what, pray tell, is a Teta Yaga? First, meet Baba Yaga, the "scary old witch" in the woods in Slavic folklore. Baba Yaga has been having a bit of a moment in recent years, and has been going through a bit of PR overhaul. Was she really the mean old witch in the woods or was she just a wise old woman living literally at the edges of what the patriarchy found acceptable? Probably a little bit of both.

Teta, on the other hand, translates to "aunt." Whatever you believe about Baba Yaga, I refer back to the "cool aunt" archetype when it comes to Teta Yaga. Maybe she was a bit of a trouble maker in her youth, or just a bit of the black sheep of the family, but she definitely has some STORIES and she definitely has the wisdom and while she supports you 100% in all your endeavors, she's also not going to sugar coat things and let you do something foolish if she can help it!
